YouTuber Emmy of emmymadeinjapan grilled the head of a sunflower and ate it like corn on the cob after her followers shared a video from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds doing the same. Basically, to prepare it, you remove the head's flowers, coat it in oil, and cover and grill it face-down on medium heat for five minutes. Emmy reports that it doesn't very sweet or flavorful. Still, I kind of want to try one for myself!
