Playmobil traffic cone swallowed 40 years ago mistaken as lung tumor

Doctors discovered a small plastic traffic cone in a 47-year-old British man’s chest he had received for his seventh birthday.

A recent cough caused the patient to seek medical attention and doctors originally suspected scans were showing a tumor on his lung, according to the BBC.

The man admitted to swallowing small toys during his childhood. The Playmobil cone is believed to have been lodged in his lungs for 40 years — possibly causing his airway to adapt around the German playset piece.

The man’s cough has significantly improved since the cone’s removal, no thanks to the miniature Playmobil doctors he may have swallowed as a kid.
