Tracking COVID in U.S.: 4,409 deaths, highest ever in a single day

The daily COVID Tracking Project update shows that U.S. states reported 1.8 million tests, 186,000 cases, and that 122,700 people arecurrently hospitalized with COVID-19. Today also marks a record: 4,409 confirmed coronavirus deaths.

With 11 days remaining in the month, January 2021 is now the 2nd-most deadly month for COVID-19 in the US.
