Harvey Weinstein, the disgraced Hollywood mogul accused of sexual misconduct by dozens of women, was today convicted of of rape in the first of three scheduled trials.
Weinstein was convicted of forcing himself on Mimi Haley and Jessica Mann, but acquitted of predatory sexual assault on three counts claimed by Annabella Sciorra. Jurors were deadlocked over the weekend on those more serious charges and returned not guilty verdicts after 26 hours of deliberation.
Haley reported that Weinstein forced oral sex on her in his New York City apartment in 2006, Mann that he raped her at a Manhattan hotel in 2013. Sciorra claimed that Weinstein attacked her in her apartment in 1993.
